Heparin is a biological product, so what we do is bring together two totally different worlds: on the one hand, the world of meat, with its specific regulations, and on the other hand, the pharma world or the world of hospitals, and in the end, a patient who will receive an injectable product.

This is a sample of porcine intestinal mucosa just as we receive it from the slaughterhouses. We process the mucosa to get an intermediate product, crude heparin. We later purify it, to produce sodium heparin, which is the active pharmaceutical ingredient.
