  • This European association promotes the role of the biostimulants industry in a more sustainable and resilient agriculture
  • The Plant Health business unit contributes over 35 years of experience in biostimulation and sustainable agriculture

Bioiberica Plant Health joins the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC) to reaffirm its commitment to the biostimulant industry and to more sustainable agriculture. The company brings over 35 years of experience in biostimulation and has Enzyneer®, its exclusive technology for extracting L-α-amino acids and other bioactive compounds, with which it obtains biostimulant products with phytohormonal activity that are unique on the market.

The European Biostimulants Industry Council advocates for a regulatory and operational environment that creates a truly European market for biostimulants and recognises their contribution to sustainable agricultural production, green innovation, economic growth, and other social objectives.

‘Bioiberica was a founding member of EBIC and, after a period of absence, it seemed essential to us to return to the organisation. Our aim is to jointly promote the defence and implementation of a harmonised regulatory framework in Europe. We believe that our experience will contribute to advances in the biostimulant market at the European level’, says Laia Cortel, director of Bioiberica Plant Health.

‘Recent years have shown that sustainable and environmentally-friendly agriculture is increasingly important. Fortunately, the new 2019/1009 regulation contemplates natural products, such as organic inputs, and will allow a broad legal framework in Europe to be able to market them. We believe that the EBIC will be a good platform to work from to defend the interests of the industry’, adds Samanta Yubero, Regulatory Affairs Technician at Bioiberica.

Bioiberica is a worldwide leader in the life sciences sector, committed to improving the health and well-being of people, animals, and plants. The Bioiberica Plant Health business unit contributes to agricultural progress, offering sustainable solutions to overcome plant stress, increase crop performance, and enhance quality parameters. It researches and develops pharmaceutical quality biomolecules for biostimulation, nutrition, and bioprotection.
