The Plant Physiology Division participated at the largest meeting worldwide of the Biocontrol Industry

The 10th Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) is being held these days in Basel, Switzerland. This meeting was born out of the cooperation of the Research Institute for Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and that of the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA), of which Bioiberica is an active member. 

Biostimulation and protection of plants through biological and natural systems allows for a sustainable production of healthy food while preventing the use of chemical pesticides. This meeting is presenting the new global trends for crop protection in the market of biological products. 

In the exhibitor’s area, Bioiberica is presenting its Cera Trap™ product, a leading product for the biocontrol of the fruit fly (Ceratitis Capitata). Results are being presented for several different regions of the globe due to its highly efficient, sustainable and eco-friendly characteristics. 

Attendees at this meeting also had the opportunity to get a close look at  Suzukii Trap™, the first specific attractant for the capture of Drosophila Suzukii , which is generating a high degree of interest in many regions of the world. This is especially true for those areas that are severely affected by this pest.  It is currently being used in a number of field trials aiming at defining the best biocontrol strategy for this product.
